don’t relax yet ;) est une œuvre vidéo de Charline Dally et Stephanie Castonguay qui fait imploser les codes de la relaxation guidée et du fitness, à travers une esthétique glitch aussi grinçante que cathartique. À partir du sampling d’un vinyle de méditation, d’archives vidéo d'aérobic, de compétitions de gymnastique, de publicités et de massage sensuel, le duo manipule des images analogiques via tables tournantes augmentées, theremin et synthétiseurs modulaires, convoquant un corps glitché, surmené, en état d’hypnose forcée. Les injonctions de beauté, de volonté, de performance, se répètent jusqu’à saturation, jusqu’à l’absurde — révélant l’angoisse sous-jacente à cette quête de contrôle. Le résultat : un crash corporel audiovisuel où le calme devient tension, et où la voix qui promet le bien-être devient l’agent du trouble.

don't relax yet ;) is a video work by Charline Dally and Stephanie Castonguay that implodes the codes of guided relaxation and fitness, through a glitch aesthetic as grating as it is cathartic. Using sampling of a meditation vinyl, aerobics, gymnastics competitions, advertisements and sensual massage video archives, the duo manipulate analog images via augmented turntables, theremin and modular synthesizers, conjuring a glitched, overworked body in a state of forced hypnosis. The injunctions of beauty, willpower and performance are repeated to saturation, to the point of absurdity - revealing the anguish underlying this quest for control. The result: an audiovisual body crash in which calm becomes tension, and the voice that promises well-being becomes the agent of disorder.
