dreamachine emerged from the collaboration between sound artist Estelle Schorpp and video artist Charline Dally. Created from archival footage recorded on DV cassettes in the Shinkansen and Hong Kong trains, the film brings together images that become fluid, blending with analog video feedback and shimmering textures. Musically, synthesized sounds and field recordings, modulated by algorithmic processes, compose a hybrid soundscape with brilliant and enveloping textures. The project seeks to transpose the sensation of looking out of a train window, and the way in which the mind can escape and float away in a dreamlike state.

dreamachine est née de la collaboration entre l’artiste sonore Estelle Schorpp et l’artiste vidéaste Charline Dally. Créée à partir d’images d’archives enregistrées sur cassettes DV dans le Shinkansen et dans des trains hongkongais, le film met en jeu des images qui se fluidifient, se mêlent à du feedback vidéo analogique et à des textures scintillantes. Sur le plan musical, des sons de synthèse et des field recordings, modulés par des processus algorithmiques, composent un paysage sonore hybride aux textures brillantes et enveloppantes. Le projet cherche à transposer la sensation de regarder par la fenêtre d’un train, et la manière dont l’esprit peut s’en échapper et flotter dans un état de rêve.
